Meet Virak
VIRAK is pronounced "VEER - RACK (preferred)," "VER - RACK," "VUH - ROCK" or "VERICK (like Derick with a V)" or you can just call me, "V!" The name has Cambodian roots but I consider myself a proud American as I was born, raised and currently live in Northern Virginia.
My Story
I am the middle child of two sisters and the son of immigrant parents who left Cambodia during the Vietnam War era (Circa 1975). I was raised primarily by my mother in Northern Virginia as my father traveled frequently between the US and Cambodia as a politician who advocated for human rights, peace and democracy.
I studied Visual Communications (3-D Graphic Design) and Computer Science at Sacramento State University and UC-Davis. When I returned home I started a career in Real Estate which led me to becoming a Regional Senior Financial Consultant for PNC Bank.
In 2012, I left that commercial bank and took two years for myself to travel, explore and practice my hobbies (which at the time was photography and dance). I made a decision to "monetize my hobbies."
